New opening in Sri Lanka: Citrus Waskaduwa 5-star 150-room resort

Citrus Leisure PLC ceremoniously has opened its iconic five-star property Citrus Waskaduwa on Sunday April 6. 
As the largest hotel to be built anew in post-war Sri Lanka on a 9.5 acre land with 150-rooms set on an unspoilt, tranquil beach strip of half a kilometer,Citrus Waskaduwa  promises a holiday experience like no other: it is a perfect blend of luxury and new age minimalist style.
The 150-rooms are divided into 140 Superior Rooms, 6 Deluxe Rooms, 1 Luxury Suite and 1 Presidential Suite with “pure indulgence to suit your every desire” being the central theme across the board. A uniqueness of the hotel  is that guests can take pleasure in a magnificent sea view from the private balcony of every room. All rooms are equipped with a king-size bed, 42-inch flat screen TV, a well-stocked mini-bar, Wi-Fi facilities and an open-sky bathroom, laundry and 24 hour room service. 
Situated just 37km from Colombo, Citrus Waskaduwa also offers extensive banquet facilities, including one of the country’s biggest banquet halls ‘Mandarin Shore’ with the highest ceiling expanse on offer. The modern ‘pillar-less’ banquet hall can cater to up to 500 guests while the smaller “Blue Orchard” ballroom is equipped for 200 pax. For smaller, more intimate gatherings there is an option of the ‘Sky Lime’ beach lounge.

In terms of dining, Citrus Waskaduwa offers a choice of four signature restaurants that serve gastronomical delights from home and away. The main restaurant “Lemon Sun” caters to a truly inter-continental palette while ‘Aqua Peel’ offers guests the opportunity to indulge in the locality’s best seafood while taking a dip in the extensive pool. The ‘Mi Café’ will feature an à la carte menu for fine dining while the ‘Pips n’Sips’ coffee shop is open for those who prefer lighter meals.
